| “An historic opportunity for you to take steps to make the RIAA’s litigation campaign more of a level playing field” | Comments Off |
This would apply more so to any US readers we have [surprisingly it appears we do have at least a few]. But even to be fully relevant they would need to be in university or at least know university students. And, well technically be part of a university’s administration that is the subject of the RIAAs crackdown on students [if anyone reading this actually meets those criteria and can prove it you will be this blog's first prize winner! (prize TBD)].
So why post this for everyone else?
Well we’re between a third of the way and half way through March [aka Boycott RIAA Month] so this will serve as a good reminder for why they should be boycotted.
It also provides a pretty straight forward summary on why what they are doing is wrong. From legal standpoints, injunctions the RIAA is ignoring to the pure load of crap all of this is. Has been. And likely will continue to be.
Open Letter to Universities Whose Students Have Been Targeted by the RIAA via Recording Industry vs The People
First saw the strip below on Gizmodo home of March’s RIAA boycott, Even FoxTrot Thinks the RIAA Sucks and it is now also on the Recording Industry vs The People blog as well.
Anti-RIAA rhetoric has officially made it to the mainstream. Fans of the funnypages probably noticed that FoxTrot’s humor was both topical and nerdy this week, which makes it one bad pun away from the newspaper comic trifecta. But hey, we love seeing the RIAA getting taken down a peg in front of people who don’t follow this sort of thing on their own. –Adam Frucci – Gizmodo
