I’m impressed with myself [screw the band] on this post. I’m posting not the day of, last minute or even after the show has started but a full freaking day before the show!!!! [show poster at end of post]

Once I see their CD – it really does have pop-up art work, how superfantastic is that – I’m pretty sure I’ll be duly impressed. Joi saw it and said it was likely one of her fav CD packages of all time. She was right impressed.

What else is there: They got some spanking new photos courtesy of Chr!S Sm!th [another Coast awards winner - best photographer] – that’s one up top there.

There’s an interview on infomonkey: Pure Pop Keeps Coming Back

That article has links to some music as well:

AND they’re in HFX today as well.

In the Coast music poll:
They were 1st runner-up: Best New Local Artist
Best Local Appearance on YouTube: 2nd runner-up (tie): The Superfantastics video blog, Matt Mays and El Torpedo on Late Night with Conan O’Brien

Best Local Merch: WINNER!!

“Matt was opposed to having one-inch buttons made since every band in Halifax had one-inch buttons,” says Superfantastic Stephanie d’Entremont of the duo’s winning slap bracelets. “I was browsing the internet for other ideas, one website I found offered slap bracelets with your company’s name on them.” She discovered it would cost over a grand to get them from the American outfit, and set out to find a solution. “I searched high and low and eventually found a dollar store that carried Dora the Explorer ones. I had pink and brown vinyl left over from when my ex-boyfriend made a pink drum set as a Christmas gift for me and so the pink Superfantastics slap bracelets were born!” It’s fitting that your favourite band merch is hand-crafted, with love. “And knowing that the indie kids are enjoying our slap bracelets,” she adds, “makes it worth the 30 minutes it takes to construct each one.”

Oh they also got the cover:

And an interview with the wonderful Shannon Webb-Campbell with this quote from Steph:

I am starting to think, “Shit, am I nuts for doing this?’

What’s she talking about? You’ll have to read the interview to find out!!

They also deserve credit for helping the Echo Chamber and Chr!s Sm!th win their respective categories. I’m pretty sure that’s what they would say anyways if they were here right now making me right this huge post all about them. But they aren’t. Really. You’re a horrible person if you even thought that might be true. That they would do something like that. They’re probably being interviewed by Spin now or something…

Go to their show and buy a CD or some award winning merch!
