| Marquee Marked For Reopening | View Comments |
The Marquee Club is officially re-opening its doors at 6 PM on September 28. It is true that the club has been open now and then for special events, but it is going back to a licensed music venue and will be open four nights a week (Wednesday through Saturday). Things are kicking off with Slowcoaster, who are releasing Future Radio, followed by Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene promoting his solo album Spirit If.. on Saturday. Eager musicians should note that The Jimmy Swift Band’s Craig Mercer will be booking. Wednesday nights are reserved for an open format DJ night called “Something Wicked,” Thursdays are devoted to “special programming” (touring DJs, hip-hop acts or up-and-coming rock bands) while Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for the bigger ticket Marquee nights. There are “versatile room sizing options” varying between 350 to 750 patrons and can still be booked for corporate parties, press releases, receptions, and product launches.
