Now I would pay BIG money to see a literal example of this post’s title but I expect that will never happen.

What will happen, on October 30th, is that CK+lawyer’s label 604 Records will release an album under the name Lions In The Street.
The issue being the band recorded said album two years ago when they were signed as The Years. And subsequently dropped.

All round a shit thing to do - from the perspective of running a business I would never trust them as they see nothing wrong packaging an album as something it is not (release it as The Years with stickers indicating who the band is now if they need to put it out that bad)

From the perspective of LITS fans I would hate 604 Records. As a music fan, I am assuming at least one remains at 604 - I am also baffled at how they can justify this as fans themselves.

We’re not embarrassed by the record. It’s just not us. It’s not Lions In The Street. It’s The Years. And it’s a great record. When we made it we were really proud, and it broke our hearts when they wouldn’t release it. They wouldn’t even let us finish it.

Lions In The Streets have been building a solid reputation for themselves over the last several months - their name has popped up numerous times in all manner of places from industry trades to blogs - here’s hoping this experience only helps to propel the band forward with the music they are making today.
