I made a record, over one long Halifax winter. I invited all of my talented musical friends to play on it with me. I arranged some grandiose songs, and some simple ones. I sang words both forthright and true. I didn’t scheme style nor genre nor strategy… perhaps the record will surprise some of you as much as it surprised me. It was a great project and I am very pleased to release this record, to present this piece of work to you. Please join me in celebration.
advance tickets available at lost and found (corner of harris and agricola) - cash only
Says Rob:
The album is beautiful. It ends on a very strong note with two of my favorite songs from Tanya.
“us this day” is a beautiful meditation on religion and differences of opinion and how we should celebrate and accept those differences [my take anyways].
“Do More” is a upbeat ending [gang vocals…kinda…] to “gorgeous morning” and great song to start your Friday with via your very own copy purchased Thursday night.
There will also likely be a who’s who of the local music scene in attendance performing with Tanya as there was quite a line up that recorded the album with her.

For some reason this didn’t post as intended via my experimenting with delayed/timed publishing of posts [why did I not clue in to the use of such a great tool before]…..so…..
Quickly as the show is upon us….TOMCAT COMBAT have a new album out on Noyes Records.
It is excellent. The recording done by Charles Austin and Dave Ewenson at the Echo Chamber does the band proud. This album simply sounds great [I find myself enjoying instrumental albums a fair bit lately too….]
But the band and I want you [well two of you] to enjoy the album as well.
A la radio call in programs from my youth I will take emails 6 and 16 [or the highest number otherwise depending on replies] at info@aquietrevolution.com for your copy of “I’m Okay, You’re Okay”
A SECOND DATE HAS BEEN ADDED FOR THE 15th
Tickets are $32.50 in advance and $37.50 day of show (including tax) and go on sale this Saturday, May 31 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at all Ticketpro outlets, including United Bookstore (1669 Barrington Street) Greenlyph Computers (1078 Queen Street), CD Heaven (118 Wyse Road), Halifax Forum (2901 Windsor Street), Alderney Landing (Dartmouth Ferry Terminal), Duly Noted Publishing (6224 Quinpool Road), Newsbreak Café and Newsstands (287 Lacewood Drive, 100 Ilsley Avenue, 6015 Lady Hammond Road and 900 Windmill Road), by phone at 1-888-311-9090 and online at www.sonicconcerts.com.
I like hip-hop [loving the new Herbaliser right now] and I enjoy chess.
So I was quite curious about the RZA’s new hip-hop chess site.
Too bad I will never see what it is all about. $48 a year for membership without even a taste of what you actually get for signing up….weak.
